CELPIP Speaking Task 2 - Personal Experience Outline & Key point
1) Outline
- The announcement requires you to specifically tell your personal experiences (memories, events, people, things)
- The announcement consists largely of a problem, an example (sentence usually beginning with Maybe), and a guide for the answer:
2) Key point
- Do not say timidly, do not mutter. A confident and correct pronunciation is a factor that can earn a good score in terms of audibility (Listenability, Comprehensibility) (it is not necessary to imitate the native even if it is correct)
- The example part in the announcement is used as a hint, but it is not necessary to talk about it because it is an example.
- It is important to spend time preparing for 30 seconds to quickly find and talk to a topic rich in materials that I can speak.
If you do not have much to say or think, you can start speaking with a paraphrasing of the instructions
Eg) [Instruction] Talk about a great time you had a family member or friend.
-> One of the greatest moments I had with my family is ...
[Instruction] Talk about the best dream you have dreamt.
-> An unforgettable dream I have dreamt I would say is ...
- When finishing speaking, it is desirable to wrap-up the answer to the question in a sentence.
Eg) I fell happy when I thought of the moment we were together in that place.
The dream has always put a good smile on my face.
- You have to practice constantly to get rid of the various forms of descriptive expression (adjectives, adverbs, etc.). (Simply knowing and writing something different)
- You should set up various similar topics to prepare for practice. In the practice of similar themes, learn with a variety of descriptive expressions, and familiarity with commonly used sentence patterns.
3) Practice examples
